We will have our Unit 1 Test on Thursday October 21st. The test will cover all material from the beginning of the year. The material can be broken up into the following sub-categories:
1. Sources (primary & secondary – bias)
2. The World We Live In (know the definition of and relationship between all 10 themes)
3. Timelines and the 4 major eras of history (know the elements of a timeline, names and dates of all 4 major eras of history)
4. Geographic skills and concepts – (Geography Skills graphic organizer – latitude longitude, know all continents)
5. Guns Germs & Steel – (concepts: hunting gathering, domestication, food surplus, technology, civilization, “geographic luck”)
6. Major World Religions – (focus on quizzed areas, and essay question given on 10/19)
7. Gupta Empire – (major achievements, geography,
8. Greece & Rome (significant contributions to government and law, types of government to know: absolute rule, authoritarian, absolutism, totalitarian, tyranny, dictatorship, aristocracy, empire, monarchy, dynasty, democracy (direct/indirect), republic)
You have 5 different quizzes to study from. You should absolutely know the information on these quizzes, and include details from your notes and worksheets.
